From Electronic to Acoustic

ddrum began in 1983 as a brand of electronic percussion products. After a successful 20 year run, other brands overtook ddrum, and Armadillo Enterprises purchased it, seeking a recognizable name for a new line of acoustic drums.

The new ddrum philosophy was simple: provide professional-quality kits with player sizes at affordable prices. Five years later, ddrum has amassed a dedicated following among drummers, from students to seasoned pro artists.

A commitment to quality has been the driving force behind ddrum, and this is evident in a large selection of ash and maple drums available in a variety of configurations, sizes, and colors. ddrum's legacy is also enhanced with the signing of some of the most influential drummers in the world, including Carmine Appice ad Vinnie Paul, both of whom have their own signature ddrum lines.

ddrum continues its electronic legacy with the classic Acoustic Pro and Red Shot Trigger series, universally accepted as the standard in drum triggering. The new drt Series Triggers combine two triggers into one housing with a switch, eliminating the need for backup triggers. The ddrum Hybrid Kit comes as a massive-sounding acoustic kit, with the Acoustic Pro Triggers built right into the shells.

Also for 2010, ddrum has introduced the D1 Series kits, a line of junior kits for younger players, built with the same commitment to quality as the pro series drums. A compact line called the D3 Series is also slated for this year. Finally, the Reflex Series drums combine high-quality wood with reflective metal to create the most dazzling-looking - and dazzling-sounding - drums ever made by ddrum.

Each housing has two transducers inside, with a switch that instantly changes from one sensor to the other, making annoying drop-outs in the middle of shows a thing of the past.
